We considered making a mystery of it, but it’s not really up for debate. Nick says Cody’s straight. Cody himself says he’s straight. You might assume they’re protesting too much, or playing hetero for the camera. We had the same suspicions, but AfterElton’s interview with Mr. Broadway, Marty Thomas, dispelled them. Marty, rollerskating, tiara-wearing Xanadu god, has no reason to lie about Cody’s orientation.
Here’s the convincing quote (at -2:20): “[Cody is] one of those dancers that’s so talented and so good-looking that usually people don’t care much for him, and I think it’s an intimidation issue from people. A lot of people in New York have issues with him because of him being just retardedly talented. But I’m so jealous of what he does with his body, and he’s really fun to look at.
